Sometimes, the city needs a little distance.
On the ground, Shenzhen comes at you in fragments: a busy crossing, another tower, the next place on your itinerary. Head up to FREE SKY, on the 116th floor of Ping An Finance Center, and the scale starts to make sense. Its observation hall offers a 360-degree view across the city. Venue facilities guide.
A pause above Futian
Make this the pause in your afternoon. Put the phone down for a moment. Follow the streets below. Let your eyes adjust from the details of the day to the shape of the city.
For those who enjoy a little vertigo, there is a glass-floor viewing platform. Guinness records FREE SKY’s achievement in 2019 for the highest glass-floor cantilevered observation deck, measured at 547.6 metres. That measurement includes the 541-metre height of the 116th floor plus 6.6 metres from a lower pedestrian entrance. Guinness World Records.
Build an afternoon around the view
Our suggested plan: choose a clear afternoon, leave room for the visit before dinner, and keep the rest of the evening relaxed. Check visibility before committing to a skyline-focused outing; distant views depend on conditions. Give yourself time to look rather than treating the deck as another quick photograph.
